Hi, I'm Joost and today I'm comparing the Layrite cement clay with the Superhold pomade

Okay, so I've tested both side by side here, the cement clay and the Superhold pomade

And let's look at the texture here. So the Superhold pomade is really gummy and gooey

While the cement clay, it's more of a paste. It's not a wet paste like with the Layrite cream, but it is a solid paste

You really need to rub that across your hands to be able to apply that to your hair

So clay really has a matte finish. This even has a stronger hold than the Superhold pomade

And pomade has a wet finish. So this is like the original Layrite pomade they have, only with a stronger hold

And they do smell the same. They both have like the manly smell with a slight coconut smell to it

But the cement clay, it's the same smell they apply to it, but it does smell a little bit more earthy

And it really does its name justice, cement. And they say here it holds like wax and washes out like gel

So that's pretty much it. It smells delicious. And you can also wash this out just with a little shampoo

But the hold is amazing. It says matte finish. It is a little bit more like a wet finish here and there

And this is like a little bit more like the slick look. As you can see, it's a little bit more slick here and there

As you can see, you have to put, scrape a little bit out and then mold that in your hands

Now what I do is I take a little out and then rub that all over my hands

And then do my full hair. I like to wear it up. So I need to create some spikes here and there

And then take a little bit extra and use that to do the sides and the back of my hair

Just a little bit extra. So that stays in place all day. And the advantage of this clay here is that you can wash it out easily

But also that if your hair doesn't look the way you want it anymore during the day

you can just easily rub your hands through it and then mold it back into shape just a little bit more

And it also doesn't harden like with a gel. So this is like a wax without the extreme stickiness of waxes

Now for my shorter hair, it can give me those nice spikes that I like. And for my son's hair, which is a little bit longer, I can easily mold this to one side

And then make a few little adjustments to make sure every hair falls in the right place

So I really recommend this for anyone looking for a matte finish, but not really matte and not messy hair

It has a medium shine, so not too heavy. And it smells, it's quite a manly smell, but maybe a little bit bubblegummy

Now this is really sticky, so what I'd like to do is rub a little across my palms

And then rub that across the top of my head. And then make sure I cover every inch of my hair

Then I just take a little bit extra and do the back and sides of my hair, just to make sure that that stays in place all day

Now this is perfect for a wet type of heavy hold, where you need your hair to stay in a particular place

And you can also use it for a little bit longer hair, like I do here with my sons

To make sure that it stays like in a slicked back look, or it stays to the side, like I'm doing here

And the advantage here is that it doesn't become crunchy. So it is a heavy hold, just like with gels

But it doesn't become crunchy, so you can go through your hair during the day. I think this Layrite Super Hold Pomade is perfect for those who want to have a heavy hold with like a wet look, but don't want that crunchiness of a gel
